Joint Forces Demonstration
Welcome to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson's first-ever virtual presentation of our 2020 Joint Forces Demonstration -- Operation COVID Strike! What you are about to see is a demonstration of Alaska’s Air Force and Army capabilities in a simulated combat environment. Alaska is positioned in a strategic location for both the Air Force and Army where air and ground power can be delivered quickly worldwide whenever called upon. With helicopters, rescue forces, fighter aircraft, airborne troops, and surveillance from above - watch the joint force operate in tandem as they eliminate air and ground threats, rescue friendlies caught behind enemy lines, and prepare to establish a forward operating base.

What the 673d Force Support Squadron brings to JBER
The 673d Force Support Squadron provides a robust array of outdoor activities and opportunities to Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, Marines, and all eligible DoD ID card holders at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Whether it's whitewater rafting on Eagle River, climbing Matanuska Glacier, or getting a license to pilot a floatplane, the 673d FSS has the gear, guides, and know-how to get people out of their homes, dorms, and barracks. This video includes interviews with service members and FSS personnel, as well as sweeping footage of Alaska.
JBER Fire and Emergency Services
JBER's Fire and Emergency Services personnel are always ready - whether it's fighting structure or wildland fires, providing emergency medical assistance, rescuing people from icy rivers, or dealing with hazardous materials. Take a look at some of what they do and what makes being a firefighter on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson special.
4th Quartermaster Company and 3rd OSS Riggers
Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson is home to the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne) - the Pacific's only Airborne brigade. To make those operations possible requires the hard work of the Soldiers of the 4th Quartermaster Company (Airborne) - the riggers who pack the parachutes - and their Air Force and civilian counterparts of the 3rd Operations Squadron Air Crew Flight Equipment shop. Whether it's repairing a torn canopy on a T-11 personnel 'chute or installing new lines for a pallet's cargo parachute, this joint team is a critical part of making JBER's Army Airborne mission possible.
JBER and 673d Security Forces Squadron's Military Working Dogs
Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson's Military Working Dogs are a critical component of the mission. Trained to apprehend fleeing suspects, sniff out explosives, and conduct searches, these canine service members are highly trained. They work with their handlers daily, practicing the skills they need on the battlefield and at home station.
